Narayana Murthy was born in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, India, in 1928. He moved to the United States in the 1950s, where he studied literature and philosophy, and graduated in 1955. He worked as a professor of philosophy at several universities, and founded the publishing company Narayana Murthy Publishing in 1979.
Murthy began his career as a writer and journalist in the 1960s and 1970s, but his work grew to include graphic novels, television shows, and movies. He was also the author of a number of books, including The Untouchables (1970), The God Who Wasn’t (1971), and The Great Indian Novel (1992). He has written a number of books on Indian philosophy, including the book The Soul of India, and wrote a biography of R. K. Narayan.
